I would like to nominate my parent’s Pat and Kathleen for this prize. I think they would be such deserving winners as they are just the best parents to their five daughters, their spouses and unbelievable grandparents to their 12 grandchildren. They are brilliant to their siblings and such good friends to so many. If anyone needs a helping hand they are already at their doorstep.
The main reason I feel they deserve this break is that dad’s sister Maura passed away in February. She was due to turn 85 this April and had been ill for the past 3 year. She wouldn’t go in to a nursing home and wanted to remain at home She was a widow and no children of her own to mind her. Mam and dad cared for her at home with the help of some home help. They were just brilliant to her and without their help I don’t know what my aunt would have done. Unfortunately her health got the better of her and she passed away. Mam and dad are both very upset but also know that Maura’s passing was an ease to her.
I would love to win this prize for them as I feel they deserve some R&R after a tiring and hardworking few years.
