Visitor Information
Newbridge House & Farm is an 18th Century hidden gem located in Donabate, North County Dublin, just 10 minutes from Dublin Airport. Step back into the 18th century and take the impeccably preserved Georgian villa all in.
Nestled on 350 acres, Newbridge House was built back in 1736 by the Archbishop of Dublin, Charles Cobbe, as his country residence. Knowledgeable and passionate tour guides are on hand to bring the story of the Cobbe family to life for visitors, showcasing some of the finest examples of Georgian period architecture.
The interiors, from the Red Drawing Room to the Cabinet of Curiosities, are remarkably complete and amongst the best preserved in Ireland and provide insight to three centuries of Irish history. Upstairs you will see how the Cobbe family lived while downstairs you can explore the Servants Quarters. Visitors are totally transported back in time to the real engine room of the building. With personal stories about the actual servants that lived and worked here, guests will get a real sense of what daily lives consisted of.
The farm has Shetland and Connemara ponies, pigs, goats, baby chicks and more. Newbridge Farm also helps to protect many traditional and rare breeds. Beyond the farm there are walled gardens, orchards, cobbled courtyards and historic walking tours.
Newbridge Demesne consists of 360 acres of gently undulating pasture land, second in size to the Phoenix Park in Dublin. Woodland parks, a deer park, picnic areas and lush vegetation you can totally loose yourself here. Plenty of free parking is also available.
The house and the 30-acre working farm are open daily for tours. Historic Parkland Tours also available.
