Great things to do in Waterford:

1. The Waterford Greenway is a spectacular 46km off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line, venturing from the quays of Waterford, a city founded by the Vikings, all the way through an area rich in Irish heritage to the historic port of Dungarvan, a vibrant seaside market town with a pretty quay-side setting.

2. Christ Church Cathedral is arguable the finest 18th Century ecclesiastical building in Ireland. Designed by John Roberts, the architect of Georgian Waterford, the Cathedral is a strong example of the elegance of the period, taking on board principle of Neo-Classicism and symmetry, alongside fresh and decorative rococo styling. There has been a Cathedral on the site since 1096. It was on this monumental site of Christ Church in 1170 that Strongbow married Aoife, daughter of Diarmait Mac Murchada, King of Leinster.

3. Experience the beauty of the Suir Valley from a period carriage and take in the wonderful panoramic views of the River Suir, travelling along 10kms of the restored Waterford to Dungarvan railway route. The Waterford and Suir Valley Railway is a family friendly rail experience that runs mostly along the picturesque banks of the River Suir offering spectacular views of the world-renowned Mount Congreve Gardens. You will be right alongside the spectacular history and biodiversity of the area.

The Woodland Garden, the Bamboo Garden, the Walled Garden and the West Lawn are just some of the stunning trails that meander through the estate and are guaranteed to get you as close to nature as you can.
