New Drug to Prevent Stroke

Hi
Just thought people may be interested to know that there is a new drug called Pradaxa which is claimed to be far more effective than warfarin. Also it prevents less bleeding and the need for regular blood monitoring. At the moment its only available in the UK. I was reading about this recently in the paper and thought that it sounded very promising.

Good to know that there may be an alternative to warfarin. I have been on it for the past 2 years and it's going ok but I really have to keep an eye on the blood pressure and I find the regular visits to the nurse to be a bit restrictive sometimes, e.g. if going on holiday etc.
