Mini Strokes

One of my elderly neighbours suffers from TIA which I've witnessed once (which is very distressing for the onlooker) but as the symptoms quite often disappear within a few hours, she refuses to have an ambulance called which makes it extremely difficult for those nearby who are not medically qualified to recognise if it's another TIA or a stroke. She seems to have no memory of anything happening. Has anybody else had a similar experience? Thanks.

Hi Geraldine

I think this must be very worrying for your neighbour and those around her. I presume she has been to the doctor and received a diagnosis along with the full battery of tests that usually accompanies? Usually the bottom line with TIA's/stroke is that time is of the essence so if something like this is happening, the emergency services need to be contacted immediately.

Hope this helps.
