Arthritis - Tens Machine

Hi everyone

I suffer badly from arthritis and my daughter suggested buying a tens machine (think that's how yo spell it!). Anyway I was just wondering if anybody had tried it - does it work? Is it expensive and where might one purchase it?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Fidelma

I've never actually used one but I hear they are good for pain relief. My daughter hired one when she was pregnant and she says it really helped  in the initial stages of labour. The maternity tens is different to a tens machine you would use for arthritis. I've seen them for sale in Boots but I can't remember how much they cost - I think it was about €50 or thereabouts. It's worth a try I suppose but perhaps you should check with your doctor

Regards

Margaret
