Flu Vaccine

My doctor gave me the flu injection last year and I developed a very bad chest infection a few weeks later. I'm 67 years old. I'm worried that I may get soething again this year and am thinking of not getting the vaccine. Whoula anybody have any advice? Thanks.

They do say that the flu vaccine wont give you the flu so maybe it's just a coincidence that you got a chest infection around the same time?
