Warmer Homes Scheme
With the recent cold snap, many of us may be considering improving the insulation in our homes. Under the Warmer Homes Scheme, services such as attic insulation and draught proofing are provided by community-based organizations to low-income households in many parts of the country. The criteria for qualifying for the scheme can vary in different areas and there may be a small fee.
The scheme aims to improve the energy efficiency and comfort conditions of homes occupied by low-income households. Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) engages regional community based organizations to acquire and apply the skills to carry out the work – which includes attic insulation, draught proofing, lagging jackets, energy efficient lighting, cavity wall insulation and energy advice.
