Jameson Dublin International Film Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2012 and hits city centre cinema screens during February. JDIFF is Ireland's premiere feature film festival, a citywide event that takes place in Dublin each February presenting eleven days of movie magic.

 

Each year the festival presents a star studded cast of international talent bringing the glitz and glamour of the red carpet to the capital. 

The festival presents a programme of over 110 films from at least 30 countries worldwide ensuring that there's a film for everyone.

Spring Concert Season at Tullynally Castle

The Degani Ensemble with Cara O'Sullivan perform Mozart, Schubert & Gounod as part of the winter season of classical concerts arranged by the Derravaragh Music Association. 


 

Concert suppers can also be booked either in the Castle Courtyard Cafe before the concert, or in the Castle Dining Room after the concert (limited numbers only).

The Gathering Festival, now in its thirteenth year, will include a stellar line-up of concerts including performances by Danú, Seán Tyrell and The Glacken Brothers, Liz & Yvonne Keane, Edel Fox & Jack Talty, Joe & Anne Burke, Tommy & Siobháin Peoples, Conal O'Grada, Colm Murphy, Benny McCarthy, Dave Sheridan & Neil Chronin, Paddy Cronin & Gearoid Dineen, Jackie Daly & Paul de Grae, Gerry Harrington & Billy Clifford and The Alan Kelly Gang.

 

The toe-tapping tunes for the ever popular Gathering Céilís will be provided by The Mountain Road Céilí, Uí Bhrian, Johnny Reidy Céilí Band, The Kilfenora Céilí Band and Swallows Tail. Set-dancing workshops for beginners, advanced and children will take place throughout the weekend and impromptu sessions galore, of the highest calibre, are a given.

After a hugely successful run last year, Roscommon Drama Festival once again presents a packed nine-night programme of theatre from Friday 2nd to Saturday 10th March, 2012.


The festival provides an exciting mix of excellent amateur drama with groups from all over the country competing for awards and nominations to the All Ireland finals.

Dublin One City, One Book 2012

Dublin: One City, One Book 2012 will celebrate a truly Dublin book – 'Dubliners' by James Joyce. This collection of stories will be brought to life in a series of events. The National Concert Hall will be the scene of 'Celebrating Dubliners' - an entertaining evening of music and readings, including a performance by folk group 'The Dubliners'.


Readings will take place in libraries, book shops, theatres and universities in the city. Cars of the period will drive into the city and conclude with an atmospheric reading of After the Race. Events will take place in theatres, museums, cafes, galleries, book shops, libraries, train stations and on the street. April in Dublin will be a wondrous Joycean affair!
